Discover your alternate pathway to a career as a practicing veterinarian and animal health leader.
Gateway Veterinary Program
The Gateway Medical Program is a 15-week preclinical and clinical sciences program offered online or on-campus to students who have been granted conditional acceptance to St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine (SMUSVM). The on-campus option is offered on Nevis at our sister school Medical University of the Americas.
Gateway is offered three times per year, beginning in January, May, and September. Upon completing Gateway, students join the next entering SMUSVM medical school class.
Gateway Program graduates may qualify for the full range of academic scholarships offered by SMUSVM’s DVM Program based on their combined GPA across both the Gateway Program and their undergraduate study, whichever affords the higher scholarship payout.
Students may attend Gateway online asynchronously.
