Academic Requirements

Students must have completed their MBBS from an accredited medical school within 5 years of application, unless they have been licensed and practicing medicine since their graduation.

English is the language of instruction at St. Matthews University School of Medicine. If your first language is not English, you must submit proof of English proficiency.
Application Process
Complete the online application.

Transcripts: Submit official transcript(s) from each college/university or professional school you attended. Student-issued copies may suffice, pending official transcripts.

Personal Statement: Submit a personal statement (limited to 500 words) detailing your motivation for pursuing a medical career, noteworthy accomplishments, personal interests, and any pertinent information for the Admissions Committee’s assessment.

Letters of Recommendation: Provide two letters of recommendation: one from a college/university professor and another from either an employer or a supervising physician.

Photos: Submit two passport-size (2″ x 2″) color photographs.

MCAT: Applicants who are not U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents are not required to submit the MCAT.

TOEFL: Applicants whose principal language is not English may be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or comparable examination.

Eligible applicants who are citizens and permanent residents of a country outside of the United States or Canada will receive $6,000 USD per semester over six semesters, to be applied towards their tuition.
